Apple iPad is reportedly preparing a second generation of cheaper and smaller screen size, which is 7 inches. It quoted by a Taiwanese newspaper, Economic Daily News, Tuesday (08/17/2010). The daily quoted sources from the makers of components that have a direct contract from Apple to make the tablet computer. IPad measuring 7 inches Ipad was mentioned in the holiday season will be marketed later this year. The Rumor is in line with previous reports quoted by Digitimes website from sources in Taiwan.However, in these reports, smaller iPad is said to be released in early 2011. The report does not mention certain screen size, but is estimated 5 inches or 7 inches. Selling price is predicted to 400 U.S. dollars.
 iPad smaller size would be more easily portable and requires less expensive components so that capital can be sold with a lower price. If the rumors are true, this is an effort to reduce the rate of Apple's competitors. Since the emergence iPad, a number of computer companies were planning to release a tablet computer as a competitor, such as Asus, Samsung, LG, HP, and a long list of other computer vendors with screen sizes smaller than iPad now with 9.7 inches.

 Computer companies, Dell Inc., will begin selling its new tablet device called Dell Streak for customers in the United States starting this weekend. Streak is Dell pc tablet that uses Android platform. According to Dell's statement quoted by Reuters on Wednesday (8/11/2010), this tablet computer will be sold in the U.S. for 299.99 dollars with a two-year networking contract with AT & T Inc., and 549.99 dollars without a contract. Dell said they will open an online reservation on this Thursday. The company hopes this five inch tablet, which is run by the operating system made by Google, will help to compete with Apple's iPad. |

Toshiba Portege R700 design is very slim and lightweight making them easy to carry anywhere. This 13.3-inch notebook has width only 1 inch (2.57 cm) and weight 1.39 pounds.

 Do not want to be outdone by Apple's iPad; LG is also planning to make a tablet computer as a competitor. LG said the tablets would be used open platform, Android. Not clear, is the Sony Ericsson will leave Windows on their tablets or will use Android as a complement?
One month ago, LG has showcased a tablet UX10 prototype. This tablet has size 10.1 inch touch screen, use Atom Z530 processor, and has 1 GB RAM. Unlike the iPad, LG UX10 has a 1.3 megapixel front camera resolution, SD memory card slot, and HDMI output. Sony UX10 also has hard drives with a capacity of 120 GB and the OS Windows 7 Home Premium. |

 Following the steps of Apple, Cisco will soon release his first tablet computer. However, this device won't be sold retail to the consumer market because it is intended for needs of professionals in the corporate market. Tablet PC with name of Cius using the Android platform that made based on google open source. Cius plans to launch this tablet by the end of this year and will be sold in 2011 in early years. |
